Bitcoin advocates often call the cryptocurrency "digital gold" due to the hedge both assets tend to offer against inflation. It has led analysts to compare the two assets.
The Bitcoin-to-gold ratio is a metric used to compare the relative value of Bitcoin and gold. It measures how many ounces of gold are required to buy one Bitcoin.
The ratio hasn't broken its uptrend but has witnessed a setback due to Bitcoin stagnating for a while and gold continuing to rise, Wood highlighted.Source: YouTube/Jobs Stumble-Now What? ITK With Cathie Wood
The veteran investor added:
"Our bet is that Bitcoin will continue this uptrend over time, but we are paying attention to it, trying to understand what is gold telegraphing relative to Bitcoin."
Gold overtakes Bitcoin
Bitcoin, which hit a new record price of $124,457.12 on Aug. 14, has declined 3.75% over the last month.

Gold, on the other hand, has rallied more than 7% during the same period and even hit the record price of $3,645.67 per oz on Sep. 8.
Kevin Rusher, founder of the real world asset (RWA) ecosystem RAAC, told TheStreet Roundtable in an email, “Over the last few days, gold has resumed its rally, as geopolitical concerns are weighing on the market once again. As such, it has taken the helm of this year’s best-performing asset from Bitcoin, and Goldman Sachs is now predicting it could reach the dizzying heights of $5,000 per ounce if President Trump’s feud with the Federal Reserve continues."
Rusher also credited the tokenization of gold for "adding fuel to the fire." Tokenization lets the growing cohort of crypto-native investors add gold to their portfolios without buying bullion or ETFs, he added.
