Cboe to launch Cboe Continuous futures for bitcoin, ether

Cboe Global Markets (BATS:CBOE [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/CBOE]) announced [https://seekingalpha.com/pr/20226479-cboe-plans-to-launch-continuous-futures-for-bitcoin-and-ether-beginning-november-10] on Tuesday plans to launch Cboe Continuous futures for bitcoin (BTC-USD [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BTC-USD]) and ether (ETH-USD [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ETH-USD]) on its futures exchange.

The launch is expected to be effective from November 10.

Cboe Continuous futures are planned to be structured as single, long-dated contracts with a 10-year expiration.

These contracts are expected to be cash-settled and aligned to real-time spot market prices.

The new bitcoin and ether Continuous futures are set to be cleared through Cboe Clear U.S., a CFTC-regulated derivatives clearing organization.
