Mazda reports decline in August U.S. sales

* Mazda North American Operations (OTCPK:MZDAY [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/MZDAY]) (OTCPK:MZDAF [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/MZDAF]) on Wednesday reported August U.S. sales of 38,140 vehicles, down 7.6% from a year earlier.
* On a daily selling rate basis, sales declined 4.1%, with 27 selling days this year versus 28 in August 2024.
* Sales rose 3.5% to 293,495 vehicles, YTD.
* Certified pre-owned [CPO] sales fell 4% in August to 7,212 units, with year-to-date CPO sales down 1% at 50,550.
* The CX-90 posted record August sales of 6,801 units, while the CX-50 recorded its second-best August with 10,028 units sold.
* Mazda Canada sales declined 2% year-over-year in August to 8,274 vehicles but rose 15.7% year-to-date. Sales in Mexico fell 6% to 7,927 units in August, with year-to-date sales up 10% at 67,639.
