Target sets the timing for its Circle Week shopping event

Target Corporation (NYSE:TGT [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/TGT]) set its Target Circle Week shopping event for October 5-11. The retailer said Target Circle members can expect deeper-than-ever discounts on Deal of the Day, which is available to all Target (NYSE:TGT [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/TGT]) Circle members.

Additional perks for members of the Target Circle 360 paid membership program include early access to shop for top deals, a new in-store experience with exclusive giveaways, and other surprises such as only-at-Target product drops.

Target Circle Week was first established as part of Target's (TGT [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/TGT]) ongoing loyalty program strategy in 2022 to combat Amazon (AMZN [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/AMZN]) Prime Day. The event now typically runs for one week in October and is designed to compete with other major retail promotions. The event is strategically timed in front of Halloween, as well as the start of the holiday shopping season. The company continues to run Circle Week during other parts of the year in addition to October.

Last week, PricewaterhouseCoopers warned that holiday shopping could see its sharpest decline since the pandemic.

Shares of Target (TGT [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/TGT]) were down 0.1% in premarket trading to $88.04 vs. the 52-week range of $87.35 to $161.50. The dividend yield for new buyers of the stock is 5.2%.
