8:30 AM JOBLESS CLAIMS
New unemployment claims are compiled weekly to show the number of individuals who filed for unemployment insurance for the first time.
The consensus looks for claims to hold steady at 224K.
8:30 AM PHILADELPHIA FED MANUFACTURING INDEX
The general conditions index from this business outlook survey is a diffusion index of manufacturing conditions within the Philadelphia Federal Reserve district.
The Philly Fed index expansion rate is expected to ease to 8.0 from 15.9 in the prior month.
9:45 AM PMI COMPOSITE FLASH
The flash Composite Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) provides an early estimate of current private sector output by combining information obtained from surveys of around 1,000 manufacturing and service sector companies.
PMI manufacturing is expected to continue to contract at 49.7 in August, while services index will expand at a slower rate at 53.0, from 55.7 in the prior month.
10:00 AM EXISTING HOME SALES
Existing home sales tally the number of previously constructed homes, condominiums and co-ops in which a sale closed during the month.
Expected to tick higher to an annual 3.93M unit rate in July from 3.9M in June.
10:00 AM LEADING INDICATORS
The index of leading economic indicators is a composite of 10 forward-looking components including building permits, new factory orders, and unemployment claims. The report attempts to predict general economic conditions six months out.
The consensus forecast looks for a decline of 0.1 percent in July, after dropping 0.3% in June.
10:00 AM QUARTERLY SERVICES SURVEY
The Census Bureau quarterly services survey focuses on information and technology-related service industries. These include information; professional, scientific and technical services; administrative & support services; and waste management and remediation services.
10:30 AM EIA NATURAL GAS REPORT
The Energy Information Administration (EIA) provides weekly information on natural gas stocks in underground storage for the U.S. and five regions of the country. The level of inventories helps determine prices for natural gas products.
4:30 PM FED BALANCE SHEET
The Fed's balance sheet is a weekly report presenting a consolidated balance sheet for all 12 Reserve Banks that lists factors supplying reserves into the banking system and factors absorbing reserves from the system.
