Geron announces executive leadership changes, new appointments

Chief Operating Officer Andrew Grethlein and Chief Commercial Officer Jim Ziegler will leave the company on October 15, with Grethlein transitioning to a consulting role.

Ahmed ElNawawi will take over as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer effective October 20, overseeing the commercial organization to expand sales of Geron’s blood cancer drug RYTELO (imetelstat).

The company also named Shanthakumar Tyavanagimatt as Chief Technical Officer, Dawn Schottlandt as Head of Investor Relations and Corporate Affairs, and Bryan Ridgell as Chief of Staff and Head of Portfolio and Project Management.
