EY names Sue Kench as new global independent non-executive

EY has named Sue Kench as its newest global independent non-executive (INE) and member of the EY Global Governance Council (GGC).

Kench brings senior leadership experience, having spent close to three decades at the law firm King & Wood Mallesons.

Her career there included periods as a partner and her tenure as global chief executive from 2017 until December 2024.

Before that, she was chief executive partner for Australia for four years at the firm.

In her new role on the GGC, Kench will advise EY’s global executive on a range of issues, including policy, strategy and considerations related to public interest.

The INE position is designed to contribute varied viewpoints to the GGC’s oversight and support EY in its responsibilities connected with audit and advisory services in capital markets.

Kench joins Tonia Lovell and Duane M. DesParte, the two current INEs based in Europe and the US, respectively.

The council’s independent members are tasked with contributing their expertise to help EY uphold standards and governance.
