7:00 AM MBA MORTGAGE APPLICATIONS

The Mortgage Bankers' Association compiles various mortgage loan indexes. The purchase applications index measures applications at mortgage lenders. This is a leading indicator for single-family home sales and housing construction.

8:15 AM ADP EMPLOYMENT REPORT

The national employment report from Automated Data Processing Inc. is computed from ADP payroll data and offers advance indications on the U.S. workforce.

Private payrolls expected up a modest 28K after their decline of 32K in September.

9:45 AM PMI COMPOSITE FINAL

US Services Purchasing Managers' Index is based on monthly questionnaire surveys collected from over 400 U.S. companies, which provide a leading indication of what is happening in the private sector services economy.

No revision expected from the flash at 54.8 for composite and 55.2 for services.

10:00 AM ISM SERVICES INDEX

Producing a monthly composite on general activity tracked in volumes, the Institute for Supply Management surveys several hundred service-providing firms from 16 industries.

Forecasters see a slight uptick to 51.0 in October from 50.0 in September.

10:30 AM EIA PETROLEUM STATUS REPORT

The Energy Information Administration (EIA) provides weekly information on petroleum inventories in the U.S., whether produced here or abroad. The level of inventories helps determine prices for petroleum products.
