Grant Thornton has announced the appointment of four new partners: Tom Kelly, Zoë Sheehan-Kohli, Howard Shortt, and Ian Wilson in the advisory and audit practices.
Kelly and Wilson will join the audit division, while Sheehan-Kohli and Shortt will be in the advisory practice.
The new appointments coincide with a period of change within the firm, as its multinational Grant Thornton Advisors platform grows following recent international partnerships.
Kelly joins the audit team in Bermuda, bringing nearly three decades of experience from his previous tenure at KPMG in New York and Bermuda.
His background covers audit and advisory work primarily for insurance and reinsurance clients, along with experience in regulatory frameworks such as PCAOB, SEC, NAIC, and local Bermuda requirements.
Wilson also joins as an audit partner, with a focus on asset management, including funds, private equity, and structured finance.
He has overseen engagements across various jurisdictions and is versed in Irish & UK GAAP, IFRS, and US GAAP standards.
In advisory, Zoë Sheehan-Kohli will lead the business consulting segment for the asset management industry.
Her 17-year career spans roles in both buy-side and sell-side technology consulting. She has previously managed technology consulting practices across the US and DACH regions.
Howard Shortt takes up the position of cyber partner in Ireland’s advisory practice.
He has advised organisations on cybersecurity issues including risk management, incident response, infrastructure security, and adherence to evolving regulations in several markets.
These appointments follow the recent news that Steve Tennant, managing partner of Grant Thornton Ireland, has taken on additional responsibilities as CEO for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
Tennant said: “We are delighted to welcome Tom, Zoë, Howard, and Ian as partners at Grant Thornton. Each brings deep expertise and proven leadership that will be instrumental in strengthening our Advisory and Audit capabilities.
“At Grant Thornton, quality is at the heart of everything we do, and these appointments will further ensure we continue to deliver exceptional service to our clients.”
