American Battery Tech completes required NEPA baseline studies for Tonopah Flats lithium project

American Battery Technology (NASDAQ:ABAT [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ABAT]) +19.5% pre-market Monday after saying it completed all required baseline studies [https://seekingalpha.com/pr/20263166-american-battery-technology-company-completes-all-required-nepa-baseline-studies-for-its] and submitted all subsequent baseline reports to the U.S. Bureau of Land Management for the review process in the development of its Tonopah Flats lithium project in Nevada.

The Tonopah Flats site is located on land managed by the BLM and required to undergo a federal permitting process in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act; after more than two years of efforts, American Battery Technology (NASDAQ:ABAT [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ABAT]) said all 21 studies that would be required for the project to complete the NEPA review process have been completed and reports submitted for review.

These studies span a wide range of critical areas, including biological, ecological, hydrological, geological, cultural, and socioeconomical, and form a foundation for predicting the mine's potential impacts and subsequent NEPA analyses, the company said.

In addition to the submitted baseline studies, American Battery Technology (ABAT [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ABAT]) said it has submitted a comprehensive mine plan of operations for Tonopha Flats which is now under review by the BLM, and is preparing for the next phases of the development process which include the release of the pre-feasibility study for the project.
