Terumo buys OrganOx in $1.5B deal

Terumo Corporation (OTCPK:TRUMF [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/TRUMF]) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire [https://seekingalpha.com/pr/20209648-terumo-to-acquire-organox-limited-a-leading-innovator-in-organ-preservation-devices-marking] OrganOx Limited, a company specializing in advanced organ preservation devices, for approximately $1.5 billion.

The deal will make OrganOx a wholly owned subsidiary of Terumo once completed.

Founded in 2008 as a spin-off from the University of Oxford, OrganOx is a leader in Normothermic Machine Perfusion technology.

The acquisition combines Terumo's expertise in medical devices with OrganOx's advanced organ preservation technology.

The development marks Terumo’s strategic entry into the organ transplantation-related sector by acquiring OrganOx to enhance organ preservation, improve transplant outcomes, and increase access for patients in need.

Terumo has developed a strong partnership with OrganOx through years of collaboration, recently strengthening it with a strategic investment from Terumo Ventures in March 2025.
