Google (NASDAQ:GOOG [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/GOOG])(NASDAQ:GOOGL [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/GOOGL]) has added artificial intelligence-powered capabilities to Google Translate, which allows for live translations in real time, the tech giant announced today.

The feature is available in the Translate app, which is available for Android and iOS. Users select the languages they want translated, and the app instantly produces an audio and a text transcript of conversations in progress. It will cater to more than 70 languages.

Google Translate has also added a new language learning tool to the app. The beta version of the update is currently available for users in the U.S., India and Mexico. It is initially only available for English, Spanish, French and Portuguese language learners.

"These updates are made possible by advancements in AI and machine learning," Google said in a blog post [https://blog.google/products/translate/language-learning-live-translate/]. "As we continue to push the boundaries of language processing and understanding, we are able to serve a wider range of languages and improve the quality and speed of translations. And with our Gemini models in Translate, we've been able to take huge strides in translation quality, multimodal translation, and text-to-speech capabilities."
