DHT says fleet has no U.S. links after China's new port fee move

Tanker operator DHT Holdings (NYSE:DHT [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/DHT]) said [https://seekingalpha.com/pr/20263720-dht-statement-relating-to-october-10-2025-china-ministry-of-transport-announcement] late Monday that its fleet does not fall under the scope of China's new fees on U.S. ships that visit its ports, effective October 14, as a countermeasure to U.S. port fees on China-linked ships.

DHT (NYSE:DHT [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/DHT]) said "each vessel in the company's fleet is directly owned by a non-U.S. entity, was built in a non-U.S. jurisdiction, does not fly the U.S. flag and is operated from management companies in Monaco, Norway, Singapore and India," and U.S. nationals represent only 20% of the composition of the company's board.

China's move targets ships that are built, flagged or operated in the U.S., as well as ships whose owning entity has U.S. persons holding 25% or more of equity, voting rights or board seats.

The company also said it is not aware of U.S. shareholders or reporting groups that control 25% or more of DHT's (NYSE:DHT [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/DHT]) shares or voting rights, but added that it does not have the ability to verify the nationality of the ultimate beneficial owners of shares held.

Separately, DHT (DHT [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/DHT]) said in a trading update [https://seekingalpha.com/pr/20263840-dht-holdings-inc-business-update] that it estimates time-charter equivalent earnings to average $40,500/day in Q3, based on 1,951 revenue days for the quarter, of which 1,068 days were spot days.

So far in the current quarter, DHT (DHT [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/DHT]) said 56% of available spot days have been booked at an average rate of $64,400/day on a discharge-to-discharge basis.
