European markets take breather after hitting fresh records

In other parts of Europe, Sweden’s trade balance recorded a surplus of SEK 5.4 billion in September.

Passenger car registrations in the EU increased by 10.0% Y/Y to 888,672 units in September [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4509087-eu-car-sales-drive-10-higher-in-september-tesla-continues-losing-market-share] 2025, marking a robust recovery in the region's automotive market for the month.

The pan-European Stoxx 600 [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/STOXX] (STOXX) [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/STOXX] down 0.24% to 576, taking a breather after touching record highs. Investors turned cautious ahead of a potential U.S.-China trade deal, quarterly earnings from major tech firms, and policy decisions from key central banks this week.

In the bond market, the yield on the US 10-year Treasury was down 2 basis points to 3.98%.

Germany's 10-year yield was down 1 basis point to 2.61%.

UK's 10-year yield was down 1 basis point to 4.39%.
