Aon names new chairman of Asia Reinsurance Solutions

Global professional services company Aon has appointed Simon Chisholm as the chairman of Asia for Reinsurance Solutions.

His tenure will commence on 1 January 2026.

Chisholm will be responsible for leading the division's Global Clients Segment within the Asian markets, focusing on strengthening client relationships in Japan and Thailand.

With a career spanning nearly four decades, Chisholm's experience includes a series of leadership roles that have seen him support Aon global reinsurance clients.

His appointment is part of Aon's strategy to align its services with the diverse needs of clients across various markets including Asia, Europe and the US.

Chisholm will operate from Singapore, reporting to Asia Reinsurance Solutions CEO Soeren Soltysiak.

Aon APAC Reinsurance Solutions CEO Rupert Moore said: “Simon plays a central role on our Japan and Asia teams, partnering with many of the region’s largest insurers to deliver client value and support better decision-making.

“With his extensive experience at Aon and its legacy companies, and deep knowledge of both Asia and global markets, he is a natural fit for this role. His appointment reflects Aon’s continued commitment to strengthening our talent and expertise across the region.”

Last month, Aon broadened its analytics offerings with the introduction of the enhanced TPI Portfolio to aid insurers in assessing risk profiles and making data-driven underwriting choices.

The TPI Portfolio is an extension of the Transition Performance Index, which supports sectors in monitoring their sustainability progress, particularly around reducing emissions.

The development of the TPI Portfolio aligns with Aon's 3×3 Plan and Risk Capital Strategy, which aim to deliver insights across client portfolios.
