Walker & Dunlop upgraded to Buy-equivalent at Citizens with $95 price target

Walker & Dunlop (NYSE:WD [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/WD]) was raised to Market Outperform from Market Perform at Citizens on improving rate outlook and favorable market conditions.

Shares were +1.36% to $81.66 during Friday morning trade. The price target was set at $95.00.

"Due to the capital-light business that is closely tied to interest rates, WD should see a boost in transaction and lending activity as a trend to even lower rates spurs more demand," said analysts Steven DeLaney and Chris Muller.

"Furthermore, futures suggest an additional 100bps of rate relief through YE26, which should put WD in a great position to take advantage of improving multifamily real estate market conditions," added the analysts.

"In addition, WD has the ability to retain earnings, in contrast to the mortgage REITs, to grow book value per share and support the further growth and scale of the company," said the analysts in the research note.
