T1 Energy (NYSE:TE [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/TE]) +12.7% pre-market Friday after unveiling an agreement with Corning (NYSE:GLW [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/GLW]) that the companies said will establish a fully domestic solar supply chain [https://seekingalpha.com/pr/20202330-t1-energy-and-corning-deal-accelerates-made-in-america-solar-momentum], connecting polysilicon, wafers, cells, and panels manufactured in the U.S.
Under the deal terms, T1 (NYSE:TE [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/TE]) will source hyper-pure polysilicon and solar wafers produced by Corning (NYSE:GLW [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/GLW]) from its Michigan factory starting in H2 2026, which will be delivered to T1’s Austin, Texas, solar cell facility, which is currently under development, and the cells will then be used to manufacture solar modules at T1's operational Dallas site.
Corning (NYSE:GLW [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/GLW]) reached a similar deal with solar manufacturers Suniva and Heliene earlier this year [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4418036-corning-to-partner-with-u_s_-solar-manufacturers-on-first-made-in-america-panel].
T1 (NYSE:TE [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/TE]) said the deal will help satisfy rising U.S. demand for panels produced with American-made components, particularly in light of President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which restricts solar companies from claiming federal clean energy tax credits if projects contain meaningful amounts of equipment produced by foreign entities.
"This landmark supply chain agreement with Corning will help invigorate America with scalable, reliable, low-cost energy," T1 (TE [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/TE]) CEO Daniel Barcelo said. "This is American companies building in America and protecting American energy security."
