Nikon jumps almost 6% as Ray-Ban maker EssilorLuxottica raises stake

* Shares of Nikon (OTCPK:NINOF [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/NINOF]) rose on Monday after EssilorLuxottica SA (OTCPK:ESLOF [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ESLOF]) disclosed it has increased its holding to about 10.6% of Nikon.
* The increase suggests EssilorLuxottica is placing a bigger bet on Nikon (OTCPK:NINOY [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/NINOY]), a pivotal supplier of chipmaking equipment.
* The Ray-Ban maker now owns about 10.6% of Nikon, the European company said in a filing, up from about 9% just over a month ago.
* The semiconductor firm’s shares rose as much as 5.7% in Tokyo, building on a rally that began in August after _Bloomberg News_ reported EssilorLuxottica was in talks with the Japanese government to build its holding to around 20%.
