Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest loads up on Archer Aviation amid stock slide

Cathie Wood’s investment firm Ark Invest bought over 3M shares of Archer Aviation (ACHR [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ACHR]) on November 6, 2025, in a deal worth over $26 million.

The purchases were made across multiple ARK funds, namely the ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ARKK]), which bought 2,346,543 ACHR shares; ARK Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF (ARKQ [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ARKQ]) bought 515,603 shares; and ARK Space Exploration & Innovation ETF (ARKX [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ARKX]) bought 150,354 shares. The ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ARKK]) lists Archer Aviation (ACHR [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ACHR]) as its 14th-largest position, while the ARK Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF (ARKQ [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ARKQ]) holds it as its seventh-largest.

The move came the same day Archer released its Q3 results and unveiled several key initiatives, including an agreement to acquire control of Hawthorne Airport in Los Angeles for $126 million in cash. The 80-acre site is located less than three miles from LAX.

Archer (ACHR [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ACHR]) also raised $650 million in new equity during the quarter, boosting its total liquidity to over $2 billion. However, shares fell nearly 11% premarket as net losses widened [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4518302-archer-aviation-stock-dips-after-wider-q3-loss-hawthorne-airport-deal]to $129.9M in Q3, amid larger operating expenses.

ACHR shares are down 8.9% YTD, underperforming the broader market's 14% gain.
