Cathay Pacific Airways today released its combined Cathay Pacific and Dragonair traffic figures for March 2015, which show an increase in both passenger and cargo traffic.
Passenger Traffic
In March 2015, Cathay Pacific and Dragonair carried a total of 2,972,753 passengers – an increase of 7.1% compared to March 2014. The passenger load factor increased by 2.4 percentage points to 85.3%. Capacity, measured in available seat kilometres (ASKs), increased by 5.1%.
Cargo Traffic
Cathay Pacific and Dragonair carried 154,244 tonnes of cargo and mail in March 2015, an increase of 8.3% compared to March 2014. The cargo and mail load factor increased by 1.4 percentage points to 65.3%. Capacity, measured in available cargo tonne kilometres (AFTKs), increased by 6.1%.
Commentary
Cathay Pacific’s Director Service Delivery James Ginns said: “March is traditionally a strong month for passenger travel, and this year was no exception. We saw good demand across our network, particularly on long-haul routes. The increase in cargo traffic was driven by strong demand from North America and Europe.”
