Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate its consumer health division, creating a new publicly traded company. This strategic move aims to streamline operations and allow Johnson & Johnson to concentrate on its pharmaceutical and medical device sectors.
The consumer health division includes well-known brands such as:
- Band-Aid
- Tylenol
- Neutrogena
- Listerine
The company anticipates that the separation will be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to board of directors approval, necessary regulatory approvals, and the satisfaction of other customary conditions.
Following the separation, the remaining Johnson & Johnson will focus on developing and marketing innovative medicines and medical technologies.
