World Economic Forum Postponed Due to Pandemic

The World Economic Forum’s annual meeting, traditionally held in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, will be delayed. The decision comes amidst growing uncertainty over the spread of the Omicron variant and its potential impact on international travel and gatherings.

The WEF cited the current pandemic situation as making it extremely difficult to host an in-person global event of the scale and scope planned for January. The safety and well-being of participants and the host community remain the top priority.

Organizers are now aiming to hold the annual meeting in early summer 2022. They believe that by then, global health conditions will have improved sufficiently to allow for a safe and productive gathering of world leaders, business executives, and experts.

Further details regarding the rescheduled dates and format will be announced as they become available. The WEF remains committed to providing a platform for addressing critical global challenges and fostering collaboration among stakeholders.
