Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Media and Retail sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Transportation & Logistics and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.23%, while the MDAX index added 0.12%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN), which rose 2.31% or 0.63 points to trade at 27.67 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) added 2.09% or 1.98 points to end at 96.82 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) was up 1.67% or 27.00 points to 1,648.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which fell 3.24% or 1.21 points to trade at 36.09 at the close. Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:DHLn) declined 2.13% or 0.89 points to end at 40.90 and Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) was down 1.81% or 0.75 points to 40.66.
The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which rose 8.50% to 7.53, flatexDEGIRO AG (ETR:FTKn) which was up 7.04% to settle at 28.90 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which gained 3.62% to close at 8.59.
The worst performers were Tui AG NA (ETR:TUI1n) which was down 3.25% to 8.99 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which lost 2.25% to settle at 22.63 and Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which was down 2.17% to 24.36 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which rose 7.99% to 23.52, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 3.03% to settle at 88.30 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which gained 2.41% to close at 22.06.
The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was down 1.67% to 194.35 in late trade, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which lost 1.57% to settle at 18.13 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 1.32% to 13.09 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 319 to 289 and 34 ended unchanged.
Shares in flatexDEGIRO AG (ETR:FTKn) rose to 3-years highs; rising 7.04% or 1.90 to 28.90.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.08% to 16.83 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.16% or 5.30 to $3,377.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.42% or 0.26 to hit $62.24 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.30% or 0.20 to trade at $66.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.17, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 97.99.
