Wendy's is set to open its first restaurant in Ireland at the Mahon Point Shopping Centre in Cork, with a scheduled opening date in October 2025.

The initiative is part of a collaboration with Corrib Oil, and will create 50 jobs in the region.

Recruitment for both full-time and part-time positions is underway.

The restaurant will incorporate Irish chicken and beef into its menu offerings.

Wendy’s Europe managing director Michael Clarke stated: “Corrib Oil's deep roots in the community and commitment to operational excellence make them an ideal partner to deliver the Wendy’s 'globally great, locally even better' experience.”

The collaboration is a crucial element of Corrib Oil's strategy to expand its presence in Ireland, with ambitions for 100 locations by 2030, The Irish Sun has reported.

The company also plans to enhance its operations in home heating distribution and fuel card services.

Corrib Brands managing director Michael Dalton stated: “Opening the first Wendy’s restaurant in Mahon Point marks a major milestone in our partnership.

"We're thrilled to bring Wendy's to Cork, offering fresh and locally sourced menu items and outstanding hospitality to local customers, who will be the first in Ireland to experience the brand.”

In July 2025, Wendy’s signed two franchise agreements to open 190 new restaurants in Italy and Armenia.

In Italy, Wendy's has teamed up with Your Food to establish 170 new restaurants by 2035. The first two will open in Milan in mid-2026.

In Armenia, the company has partnered Wen Restaurant to open 20 new locations by 2030, with the first in Yerevan's city centre.
