Greece stocks higher at close of trade; Athens General Composite up 0.17%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.17%.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Evropi Holdings SA (AT:EVROr), which rose 4.98% or 0.10 points to trade at 2.11 at the close. Meanwhile, Orilina Properties AEEAP (AT:ORILINAr) added 3.90% or 0.03 points to end at 0.80 and Aktor Symmetochon Technikon kai Energoiakon Ergon AE (AT:AKTRr) was up 2.73% or 0.20 points to 7.53 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Optima bank SA (AT:OPTIMAr), which fell 2.30% or 0.19 points to trade at 8.08 at the close. Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) declined 2.19% or 0.70 points to end at 31.20 and Hellenic Exchanges Athens Stock Exchange SA (AT:EXCr) was down 1.28% or 0.09 points to 6.94.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 86 to 42 and 18 ended unchanged.

Shares in Evropi Holdings SA (AT:EVROr) rose to 5-year highs; rising 4.98% or 0.10 to 2.11. Shares in Aktor Symmetochon Technikon kai Energoiakon Ergon AE (AT:AKTRr) rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.73% or 0.20 to 7.53.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.37% or 12.38 to $3,365.62 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.97% or 0.61 to hit $62.09 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.81% or 0.54 to trade at $66.06 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 1.17, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 98.00.
