Stock-index futures tied to the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100 and Dow Jones Industrial Average were down a touch ahead of the first full trading day after the Labor Day holiday. International stock markets were mostly lower on profit taking after modest gains on Monday. Safe-haven gold continued to hover near record highs as investors take stock of trade policy after a federal appeals court on Friday ruled that President Trump overstepped his power in imposing tariffs.
