Aris Mining (NYSE:ARMN [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ARMN]) said Wednesday that all 23 workers who were trapped underground at the time of the La Reliquia mine shaft collapse have been safely returned [https://seekingalpha.com/pr/20243421-aris-mining-reports-safe-recovery-of-all-workers-at-segovia-partner-mine] to the surface.
The group included five Aris (NYSE:ARMN [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ARMN]) employees who were conducting a routine monthly review of mine operations.
The miners were trapped for two days, but they had been receiving oxygen, food and blankets, and were in constant communication with rescuers, according to government officials.
The La Reliquia mine in Colombia is in Aris' (ARMN [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ARMN]) land holdings but operates separately; the company said its Brigade of Prevention and Emergency Control led the rescue operation.
Aris (ARMN [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ARMN]) shares have declined ~7% in the two days since the incident.
