The licence area spans about 2,926 square kilometres in the Ivorian sedimentary basin, with water depths between 1,000 and 3,000 metres. The exploration phase is set for a maximum of nine years.

CI-707 is geologically continuous with Block CI-205, where Eni discovered Calao, estimated to hold around 1 billion barrels of oil equivalent. This proximity provides significant potential for identifying similar structures and opens the door to future integrated developments.

Eni has been present in Côte d'Ivoire since 2017 and currently produces more than 62,000 barrels of oil and 75 million cubic feet of gas per day. Production is expected to rise to 150,000 barrels of oil and 200 million cubic feet of gas with the launch of phase 3 developments.

With the addition of CI-707, Eni now holds interests in 11 offshore blocks in Côte d'Ivoire: CI-101, CI-205, CI-401, CI-501, CI-504, CI-526, CI-706, CI-708, CI-801, CI-802, and CI-707. This expansion underlines the company’s long-term strategy to grow its West African portfolio through exploration close to existing discoveries and infrastructure.
