Meet Strata Critical Media: The company dominating the U.S. organ transport logistics market

Blade Air Mobility (NASDAQ:BLDE [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BLDE]) formally changed its legal name to Strata Critical Medical on Thursday. The change is intended to reflect the company’s plan to focus on providing mission-critical logistics and medical services to hospitals and healthcare providers throughout the country following the closing of the previously announced agreement to sell Blade’s Passenger business to Joby Aviation (JOBY [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/JOBY]).

As part of the transaction with Joby Aviation, Strata Critical Medical will rely on Joby (JOBY [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/JOBY]) to be its preferred VTOL partner for the organ transport business.

Following the business split, Strata Critical Medical is expected to continue to dominate the U.S. organ transport market, as it currently handles about 90% of the time-critical logistics and leveraging partnerships to integrate electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, which can cut operational costs by 60–70% compared to traditional helicopters. Strata Critical Medical's access to Joby's (JBOY) eVTOL fleet and software tools creates a technological advantage and positions the company to target a projected $57.6 billion medical eVTOL market by 2034.

Strata Critical Medical leadership is now under co-CEOs Will Heyburn and Melissa Tomkiel, both of whom have extensive experience in aviation and medical logistics.

Strata Critical Medical will begin trading under the SRTA symbol on Thursday.
