Paramount Skydance (NASDAQ:PSKY [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/PSKY]) is set to name Bari Weiss as editor-in-chief of CBS News in the coming days, according to _The New York Post _on Thursday.

The report comes amid the media company's acquisition of Weiss' news site, The Free Press, for $150M. Sources told the news outlet that the transaction is expected to include a mix of stock and cash and will include earn-out provisions to reach its full value.

Weiss, a former New York Times opinion writer, is expected to be appointed on Monday, although the talks are in flux and the timing could change, a source told _NYP_.

Weiss will report directly to CEO David Ellison and will also help set the editorial direction at the Tiffany Network’s third-place news division, a source told _NYP_.

Weiss' news site will remain a standalone property operating separately from CBS News and owned by Paramount, the report said. However, it is unclear if the site will eventually be integrated into CBS News’ digital site.
