US-based casual dining chain The Cheesecake Factory has reported net income of $31.89m for the third quarter (Q3) of 2025, up 6.3% compared with $29.99m a year previously.
For the quarter ended 30 September, total revenues increased 4.8% year-on-year (YoY) to $907.22m.
The company owns and operates 365 restaurants across the US and Canada under brands including The Cheesecake Factory, North Italia, Flower Child and other Fox Restaurant Concepts (FRC) brands.
Revenue composition for the period included $651.37m from The Cheesecake Factory, $83.48m from North Italia and $78.01m from other FRC and related operations.
The company incurred a $800,000 pre-tax charge, largely tied to costs from acquiring FRC.
After removing the after-tax impact of this and select items, adjusted net income for Q3 was $33.2m, or $0.68 per diluted share.
Comparable restaurant sales at The Cheesecake Factory rose 0.3% YoY during the quarter.
The Cheesecake Factory chairman and CEO David Overton stated: “Performance was led by The Cheesecake Factory restaurants, delivering positive comparable sales results amid a more challenging and competitive environment, underscoring the strength and resilience of our namesake concept.
“Our operators once again executed exceptionally well, delivering year-over-year improvements in labour productivity, wage management and hourly staff and manager retention, supporting healthy margin performance. New restaurant openings continue to perform well, and with two openings in the third quarter we remain on track to achieve our unit growth objective for the year.”
In Q3, the company launched two additional FRC outlets and opened two licensed Cheesecake Factory locations in Mexico.
After the quarter had ended, the company opened one further FRC location.
The company restated guidance to open as many as 25 restaurants in fiscal 2025, encompassing up to four The Cheesecake Factory units, six North Italia sites, nine FRC restaurants and six Flower Child locations.
The company announced a quarterly dividend of $0.27 per share.
