After-market movers: Nasdaq futures slip even as Amazon soars, Apple climbs

Tech-focused Nasdaq 100 futures (US100:IND [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/US100:IND]) slipped -0.3% after hours on Thursday, despite a post-earnings climb in tech giants Apple (AAPL [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/AAPL]) and Amazon (AMZN [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/AMZN]), as sentiment remained muted from the regular trading session.

Benchmark S&P 500 futures (SPX [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/SPX]) were -0.4%, while Dow futures (INDU [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/INDU]) were -0.1%.

Shares of Amazon (AMZN [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/AMZN]) popped +13.2% postmarket as the retail and tech behemoth sailed [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4511697-amazon-surges-after-q3-beat-driven-by-aws-ad-growth-offsetting-margin-pressures] past Q3 estimates for net sales, profit, and subscription revenues. Its Amazon Web Services unit logged a 20% rise in quarterly revenue.

Meanwhile, Apple (AAPL [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/AAPL]) gained +3.6%, as positive guidance overshadowed a quarterly revenue miss for iPhones and China. Top boss Tim Cook on CNBC issued [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4511434-apple-slips-as-iphone-china-sales-fall-short-in-q4] a strong sales outlook for AAPL's fiscal first quarter, adding that China should return to growth.

Other notable movers after hours include:

* Western Digital (WDC [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/WDC]) jumped +9.7% after the data storage company comfortably beat quarterly estimates and upped [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4511443-western-digital-surges-as-ai-demand-fuels-q1-results-guidance-ups-dividend] its dividend.
* Twilio (TWLO [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/TWLO]) added +9.3% after the cloud communications developer raised [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4511471-twilio-pops-as-it-raises-full-year-forecast-aided-by-strong-q3-results] its full-year forecasts for revenue, profitability, and free cash flow.
* Class A shares of Cloudflare (NET [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/NET]) advanced +8.1%, after the content delivery network and cloud security platform projected [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4511664-cloudflare-climbs-as-q3-revenue-surges-31-year-over-year] current quarter revenue that was easily above estimates.
* DexCom (DXCM [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/DXCM]) slumped -14%, despite the medical device maker delivering [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4511715-dexcom-non-gaap-eps-of-0_61-beats-by-0_04-revenue-of-1_21b-beats-by-30m] a beat-and-raise quarter. It should be noted that the stock has been under pressure since Tuesday amid the release of a short report [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4509591-dexcom-falls-as-hunterbrook-releases-new-short-report] from Hunterbrook.
* Class A shares of Roku (ROKU [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ROKU]) declined -6.8% after the streaming device seller announced a mixed [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4511721-roku-stock-slides-after-mixed-q3-report-tepid-forecast] quarterly report and a tepid forecast.

Wall Street had earlier closed lower [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4511415-wall-street-dow-sp500-nasdaq] after Meta Platforms (META [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/META]) and Microsoft's (MSFT [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/MSFT]) earnings failed to impress investors, which kept a lid on markets throughout the session.
