Canada Goose soars on report of take-private bids valuing it at $1.4B

Canada Goose (NYSE:GOOS [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/GOOS]) climbed nearly 9% before the bell on Wednesday after its controlling shareholder Bain Capital reportedly received bids to take the luxury parka maker private at a valuation of about $1.4B.

Bain is looking to offload its stake in Canada Goose (NYSE:GOOS [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/GOOS]), _CNBC _reported, citing people familiar with the matter. As of March, Bain owned around 60.5% of Canada Goose's multiple voting shares, giving it 55.5% of total voting power.

Private equity firms Boyu Capital and Advent International have made verbal offers, valuing Canada Goose (NYSE:GOOS [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/GOOS]) at 8x its 12-month average EBITDA, translating into a valuation of around $1.35B, sources told _CNBC_.

Other interested bidders include Chinese firm Bosideng International, which makes down jackets, and a consortium formed by private equity firm FountainVest Capital and Chinese sportswear maker Anta Sports Product.

Bain is holding off [https://www.cnbc.com/2025/08/27/canada-goose-draws-take-private-bids-bain-weighs-exit.html] on a decision till it receives more offers. Once a bid is chosen, due diligence will likely to take less than two months before the deal is signed.

Canada Goose's NYSE-listed shares (GOOS [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/GOOS]) have gained more than 21% YTD, with its market capitalization at about $1.18B.
