Brookfield Asset Management said in talks to buy nuclear reactors from Santee Cooper

Brookfield Asset Management (NYSE:BAM [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BAM]) was in advanced discussions for the acquisition of two inactive nuclear reactors from South Carolina power provider Santee Cooper that could power AI data centers, according to a media report on Friday.

The two companies entered exclusive talks to complete deal terms in the weeks ahead, after Santee Cooper's board signed off on Broofield's (NYSE:BAM [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BAM]) proposal, the _Wall Street Journal_ reported, citing executives. The agreement is expected to be valued in the billions, though the terms were still being discussed.
