Polymarket is expected to be live in the U.S. by late November

Polymarket (POLYMARKET [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/POLYMARKET]) is expected to relaunch in the U.S. as soon as late November. The relaunch will focus initially on sports betting contracts, especially looking to get in for the period of peak football and basketball action.

The U.S. entry by the prediction market mainstay is made possible due to its acquisition of QCX, a CFTC-regulated derivatives exchange and clearinghouse. The $112 million acquisition provided Polymarket (POLYMARKET [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/POLYMARKET]) access to a Designated Contract Market license, allowing it to self-certify markets for U.S. users and operate prediction markets in full compliance with federal commodity futures regulations.

Despite the national launch, Polymarket (POLYMARKET [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/POLYMARKET]) could face scrutiny from state-level gaming regulators, especially in states such as California, Texas, and Florida that do not have legalized sports betting.

One of the most prominent recent investors in the company is Intercontinental Exchange (ICE [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ICE]), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange. Coinbase Ventures (COIN [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/COIN]) also took a stake earlier in 2025. Earlier venture capital investors in Polymarket (POLYMARKET [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/POLYMARKET]) included Polychain Capital and General Catalyst. Polymarket (POLYMARKET [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/POLYMARKET]) has recently been looking to raise money at a valuation between $12 billion and $15 billion.
