* Hyundai said construction of the Hyundai-LG EV battery plant in Georgia has slowed in the wake of a highly publicized immigration raid that resulted in the detainment of over 300 South Korean workers.

“This is going to give us minimum two to three months delay, because now all these people want to get back,” Hyundai CEO José Muñoz said in an interview with Bloomberg on Thursday [https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-09-11/hyundai-ceo-says-battery-plant-delayed-after-immigration-raid?sref=Hh2p8mzs]. “Then you need to see how can you fill those positions. And for the most part, those people are not in the US.”

* The European Central Bank has voted to keep its key interest rates unchanged.

"The Governing Council today decided to keep the three key ECB interest rates unchanged. Inflation is currently at around the 2% medium-term target and the Governing Council’s assessment of the inflation outlook is broadly unchanged," the ECB said in a statement [https://www.ecb.europa.eu/press/pr/date/2025/html/ecb.mp250911~6afb7a9490.en.html].

The central bank added that they see headline inflation in the eurozone averaging 2.1% in 2025, 1.7% in 2026 and 1.9% in 2027. The EU economy is expected to grow by 1.2% in 2025, revised up from the ECB's previous estimate of 0.9%. Growth is now seen at 1.0% for 2026 and 1.3% for 2027.

The Federal Open Market Committee is expected to vote on whether to adjust U.S. rates on Sept. 17.

* Interior Secretary Doug Burgum told an audience in Milan that offshore wind has no future as an energy source under the Trump administration.

“Under this administration, there is not a future for offshore wind because it is too expensive and not reliable enough,” Burgum told listeners at the Gastech conference, according to CNBC [https://www.cnbc.com/2025/09/11/offshore-wind-renewables-energy-trump-burgum.html].

Last month, the administration ordered Orsted (OTCPK:DNNGY [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/DNNGY]) to cease construction of the Revolution Wind project off the coast of Rhode Island even though it was fully permitted and 80% completed, CNBC noted.
