Embraer (NYSE:ERJ [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ERJ]) said Wednesday its Brazilian plants are operating normally despite an indefinite strike launched by the São José dos Campos metalworkers union, which is demanding an 11% pay hike versus the 5% to 5.5% offer tied to inflation.
The company, which has delivered 26 of its targeted 77 to 85 jets for 2025, said talks were still underway and called the union’s move premature.
The strike comes as Embraer ramps up output to meet annual delivery goals, with unions arguing record profits and backlogs justify higher wages. Embraer (NYSE:ERJ [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ERJ]) shares slipped 1.3% in São Paulo trading, even as the broader Bovespa index gained.
