The Trump administration is weighing canceling an additional $12B in funding for clean energy projects, _Semafor _reported, after reviewing a list of potential targets.
These include two major direct air capture hubs approved by the Biden administration, one of which is being developed by Occidental's (NYSE:OXY [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/OXY]) unit 1PointFive.
Other funding on the list includes GM's (NYSE:GM [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/GM]) $500M grant to prepare its Lansing Grand River plant to produce electric vehicles, as well as two grants awarded to Stellantis' (NYSE:STLA [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/STLA]) Fiat Chrysler - a $335M grant to convert the idled Belvidere plant for EV production and a $250M grant to convert an Indiana transmission plant to produce EV modules.
The list also included Volvo's (OTCPK:VLVLY [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/VLVLY]) $208M grant aimed at accelerating heavy-duty electric truck production, Harley-Davidson's (NYSE:HOG [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/HOG]) $89M grant to expand its Pennsylvania plant to produce electric motorcycles, and Blue Bird's (NASDAQ:BLBD [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BLBD]) $80M grant to boost electric school bus manufacturing.
Cummins' (NYSE:CMI [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/CMI]) $75M grant to convert existing manufacturing space to build zero-emissions components is also on the list [https://www.semafor.com/article/10/07/2025/trump-eyes-deeper-energy-project-cuts-as-shutdown-drags-on].
_Semafor _noted that it's not clear whether, or when, the full list [https://cdn.sanity.io/files/ifn0l6bs/production/c4958f7c218f27c104887ec75eccccd3f01e4568.pdf] of cancellations will be enacted.
The Department of Energy last week said it would terminate about $7.56B in funding for climate-related projects. It'd canceled $3.7B in similar funding back in May.
