Nano Nuclear Energy double downgraded to Sell at Ladenburg Thalmann

Nano Nuclear Energy (NASDAQ:NNE [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/NNE]) -6.9% in Monday's trading as Ladenburg Thalmann double downgraded shares to Sell from Buy with a $9 price target, citing higher expected cost, significant dilution risk, and increasing competitive pressure.

Ladenburg analyst Michael Legg said he had hoped Nano's (NASDAQ:NNE [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/NNE]) management would streamline its strategy and prioritize core initiatives, particularly the Kronos reactor, during its Q3 business update [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4485659-nano-nuclear-energy-reports-q3-results]; instead, the company "continues promoting a broad, diversified model encompassing ancillary ventures in fuel, transportation, and consulting," which are "distractions" for a company of Nano’s size and capitalization, and whose credibility has been eroded by missed timelines and broad strategic ambitions.

Legg noted it is important to realize that Nano (NASDAQ:NNE [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/NNE]) remains a venture-stage company: Reactor revenues are not expected until 2031 at the earliest; several prior management projections have not materialized, including expectations for consulting revenue by year-end 2024; and current guidance on commercializing the company's ALIP technology by late 2025 or early 2026 remains unproven - the analyst said he will watch closely to see if orders follow.
