Kellanova edges higher on report Mars will win EU approval for $36B purchase

Kellanova ticked higher by 0.5% in premarket trading on a report that the European Union is set to approve its planned $36 billion sale to Mars.

The European Commission is set to give unconditional approval for the combination, according to a Reuters report [https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/boards-policy-regulation/mars-set-win-unconditional-eu-nod-36-billion-kellanova-deal-sources-say-2025-10-07/] on Tuesday, which cited people familiar with the matter. The EC has found insufficient legal grounds to demand concessions on the deal.

The most recent update comes after EC restarted its probe [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4495717-eu-restarts-clock-on-review-of-mars-36b-purchase-of-kellanova]into Mars' purchase of Kellanova (NYSE:K [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/K#hasComeFromMpArticle=false#source=section%3Amain_content%7Cbutton%3Abody_link%7Cfirst_level_url%3Anews]) after it was paused in late July. The EC in June opened an in-depth investigation [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4462378-mars-deal-to-acquire-kellanova-hits-a-major-roadblock-in-europe#hasComeFromMpArticle=false#source=section%3Amain_content%7Cbutton%3Abody_link%7Cfirst_level_url%3Anews] into the deal. The EC has a deadline of Dec. 19 to decide on the transaction.
