Nissan reportedly eyes collaboration with Ford and Stellantis on hybrid SUVs

Nissan (NSNAY) is reportedly in discussions with Ford Motor (F [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/F]) and Stellantis (STLA [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/STLA]) about potential collaboration on electric vehicles.

The talks are centered on Ford (F [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/F]) and Stellantis (STLA [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/STLA]) supplying an electrified vehicle based on the Rogue crossover, according to Automotive News. The compact SUV would feature Nissan's (OTCPK:NSANY [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/NSANY]) e-Power hybrid system, which uses an electric motor to drive the wheels and a gasoline engine to recharge the battery. Nissan (NSNAY) spokesman Brian Brockman confirmed that the Japanese automaker is exploring options to localize vehicle and powertrain production to meet growing U.S. demand for hybrids. "At this time, we have no agreements in place regarding production at our US plants," he stated.
