Boeing (NYSE:BA [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BA]) delivered 160 commercial aircraft in the third quarter, its strongest performance since 2018, a sign the U.S. planemaker is regaining momentum after years of production setbacks and regulatory scrutiny.

The company handed over 55 aircraft in September, including 41 from the 737 family, as it works toward increasing monthly output of its best-selling jet. Boeing (NYSE:BA [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BA]) also delivered seven 787 Dreamliners, three 777 freighters and four 767s during the month.

The manufacturer is seeking Federal Aviation Administration approval to lift production of the 737 series by roughly 10% to 42 aircraft per month, a move aimed at boosting cash flow and clearing its backlog. According to reports, the company has informed suppliers that the increase could begin as early as this month, with two additional rate hikes planned for 2026.

Boeing (BA [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BA]) has been averaging about 40 deliveries a month of the 737, helped by both new factory output and jets released from storage as it continues to unwind its inventory of previously built 737 Max aircraft.

In total, Boeing (BA [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BA]) delivered 440 aircraft during the first nine months of 2025, including 330 737s, compared with 291 in the same period last year, when a labor strike and federal investigations disrupted production. Rival Airbus (OTCPK:EADSF [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/EADSF]) (OTCPK:EADSY [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/EADSY]) reported 507 deliveries over the same span.

On the sales front, Boeing (BA [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BA]) booked 96 gross orders and only one cancellation in September. That included a 50-plane Dreamliner order from Turkish Airlines, announced after President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s late-September visit to the White House.

Year to date, Boeing (BA [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BA]) has secured 821 gross orders and 870 net orders after accounting for cancellations and at-risk deals, marking another milestone in its effort to stabilize operations and rebuild investor confidence.
