Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO Elon Musk says the company could finally win full regulatory approval for its Full Self-Driving (FSD) system in China as soon as February or March next year. Speaking at Tesla's annual meeting, Musk sounded confident, noting the company already has partial approval in the country.

Right now, FSD in China is still limited it can't switch gears on its own or complete a full trip from one parking spot to another. Even so, thousands of Chinese Tesla owners have already paid about 64,000 yuan ($9,000) for the feature, eagerly waiting for the full rollout.
China remains a crucial market for Tesla, though competition has been heating up fast. Local automakers like BYD and Xpeng are offering similar driver-assist features often built right into the car at no extra cost.
