* Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/AMZN]) is now offering same-day delivery service for perishable groceries in over 1,000 cities, with plans to expand to more than 2,300 cities by the end of the year.

“We’re continuously innovating to make grocery shopping simpler, faster, and more affordable for our customers, especially Prime members,” said Doug Herrington, CEO of Worldwide Amazon Stores, in a statement [https://seekingalpha.com/pr/20199521-amazon-announces-major-grocery-expansion-tens-of-millions-of-prime-members-can-now-shop]. “By introducing fresh groceries into our Same-Day Delivery service, we’re creating a quick and easy experience for customers."

The new service will compete against similar services offered by Walmart (WMT [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/WMT]) and Maplebear's (CART [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/CART]) Instacart.

* New York Attorney General Letitia James is suing Zelle's parent company, Early Warning Services, or EWS, asserting that known vulnerabilities in the fintech platform allowed scammers to steal more than $1 billion from consumers between 2017 and 2023.

"EWS knew from the beginning that key features of the Zelle network made it uniquely susceptible to fraud, and yet it failed to adopt basic safeguards to address these glaring flaws or enforce any meaningful anti-fraud rules on its partner banks," the New York AG's Office said in a statement [https://ag.ny.gov/press-release/2025/attorney-general-james-sues-company-behind-zelle-enabling-widespread-fraud].

"With this lawsuit, Attorney General James is seeking restitution and damages for affected New Yorkers, as well as a court order mandating Zelle maintain anti-fraud measures necessary to protect its users," her office added.

EWS is owned by Bank of America (BAC [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BAC]), Capital One (COF [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/COF]), JPMorgan Chase (JPM [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/JPM]), PNC (PNC [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/PNC]), Truist (TFC [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/TFC]), U.S. Bank (USB [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/USB]) and Wells Fargo (WFC [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/WFC]). Zelle's competitors include PayPal (PYPL [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/PYPL]), which also owns Venmo, and Block's (XYZ [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/XYZ]) Cash App.
