AI buzz powers SK Hynix and Samsung stock to record highs

* South Korean chipmakers SK Hynix (OTCPK:HXSCF [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/HXSCF]) and Samsung Electronics (OTCPK:SSNLF [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/SSNLF]) notched record highs on Friday, after a near-weeklong holiday, driven by a series of artificial intelligence deals.
* SK Hynix shares jumped 10% on KRX, while Samsung Electronics rose nearly 6% to hit fresh records, according to data from FactSet.
* The two companies are set to benefit from an OpenAI (OPENAI [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/OPENAI]) and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/AMD]) deal [https://seekingalpha.com/article/4828230-amd-openai-to-become-largest-shareholder-vesting-thresholds-600-per-share]that could see Sam Altman’s company take a 10% stake in AMD.
