Apple foldable iPad may be delayed amid development snag: report

* A foldable version of the iPad may be delayed, as Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/AAPL]) has reportedly hit some snags in developing the tablet.
* Issues related to the weight of the device, as well as features and concerns about its display have pushed back the debut of the iPad until 2029 or perhaps later, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
* The iPad maker is working with industry competitor Samsung (OTCPK:SSNLF [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/SSNLF]) and its display unit on the 18-inch panel for the tablet, the news outlet added, citing sources. At 18-inches, the screen could minimize the crease seen when it folds, similar to the approach it is taking with the upcoming foldable iPhone. A foldable iPhone is expected [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4417940-apple-likely-to-launch-first-foldable-iphone-in-2026-could-cost-over-2000-analyst] to be unveiled next year, though plans could always change.
* Assuming Apple does release a foldable iPad, it could boost revenue for its tablet segment, given it is expected to cost nearly $3,000.
