Malaysia expands use of BlackBerry secure tech for ASEAN summit security

Malaysia has deployed BlackBerry (NYSE:BB [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BB]) (TSX:BB:CA [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BB:CA]) AtHoc and SecuSUITE to secure communications for the 46th and 47th ASEAN Summits in 2025.

The summits involve 500+ meetings and thousands of personnel, coordinated by the ASEAN Main Logistics Secretariat.

BlackBerry AtHoc enables real-time mobile coordination and emergency alerts across government agencies. SecuSUITE, a NATO-certified secure voice and messaging solution, prevents eavesdropping and interception.

150 liaison officers at the 47th Summit will use AtHoc and SecuSUITE on standard iOS and Android devices. 80% of inter-agency communications during the summits are secured, including highly confidential interactions.

Malaysia aims to set a new standard for sovereign secure communications as 2025 ASEAN Chair.

BlackBerry’s platform was also used in past G7 Summits, highlighting its global security credentials.

BB shares are up 2.8% on Wednesday.
