HP plans to build AI PC manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia to expand supply chain: report

HP (NYSE:HPQ [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/HPQ]) is developing a manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia that is expected to be capable of building hundreds of millions of devices before 2030, according to Semafor.

It is part of a plan to boost Saudi Arabia's manufacturing and export volumes as well as help HP diversify its supply chain, the report [https://www.semafor.com/article/10/24/2025/hp-plans-to-build-millions-of-computers-in-saudi] said. HP is partnering with SAMI Advanced Electronics Company. The facility will manufacture desktop PCs designed for artificial intelligence applications and enterprise clients. It is unclear at this time how much money HP is investing in the project. It will be located in Riyadh.

The development is also part of a broader plan by Saudi Arabia to promote domestic manufacturing, the report added. The nation's Public Investment Fund has also helped create ALAT, a technology company that has already inked a deal with China-based Lenovo to build PCs. The kingdom wants to become a major trade and logistics hub.

"Maybe today [Saudi Arabia] is not the most competitive setup, but we believe it will be very soon," said Fadle Saad, HP's managing director of its Middle East and North Africa region, according to the report.
