Microsoft says Azure outage likely to have 'full mitigation within the next four hours'

* Microsoft (MSFT [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/MSFT]) said on Thursday that the outage tied to its Azure cloud computing service is likely to be fixed in the next few hours.
* “At this stage, we anticipate full mitigation within the next four hours as we continue to recover nodes,” Microsoft said in an update to its cloud service's website [https://status.cloud.microsoft/]. “This means we expect recovery to happen by 23:20 UTC on 29 October 2025. We will provide another update on our progress within two hours, or sooner if warranted. Although we are seeing signs of recovery and have an estimated timeline, customers may also consider implementing failover strategies using Azure Traffic Manager to redirect traffic from Azure Front Door to their origin servers as an interim measure.”
* The outage, which has been going on for much of the day, follows a major outage from Amazon (AMZN [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/AMZN]) Web Services earlier this month. That outage [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4505484-amazon-web-services-outage] took down several websites and apps for hours.
* Microsoft is set to report fiscal first-quarter results after the close of trading, with investors paying keen attention to metrics tied to Azure.
