Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump described Nvidia's Blackwell chip as amazing and praised CEO Jensen Huang for unbelievable progress in AI technology. He confirmed the product and U.S. chip export rules will be on the agenda during his talks with Xi.

The announcement came shortly after Huang highlighted the importance of U.S. leadership in AI at Nvidia's developer conference in Washington. Nvidia shares hit a record high Tuesday following Huang's remarks and renewed optimism over domestic semiconductor investment.

Nvidia has been restricted from selling its most powerful AI chips, including the Blackwell line, in China under U.S. export controls. The company has since developed alternative versions for overseas markets while expanding operations in the United States.

Trade relations and chip access remain key issues between Washington and Beijing. Trump's upcoming discussion with Xi is expected to address semiconductor policy, technology exports, and broader trade tensions between the world's two largest economies.
